Through Conversation (and Running), Life Happens & Finds Meaning

Last night was a great night!

Actually it was an amazing night!

For the past 12 weeks, I’ve gathered with others runners in my community for a weekly run. We set a goal to have 100 runners for last night’s gathering. I am happy to report that I was #1of100 (actually 130+) people who gathered for a three-mile run through the streets of Minnesota’s Hometown.

Hutchinson Community Running Group – Be “1 of 100″ Event

What an incredible evening we shared! What a powerful community building experience it turned out to be!

As you know, I am a firm believer in the power of conversation. In fact, one of the guideposts of my blog and podcast is my belief that through conversation, life happens and finds meaning. Running and conversation was the order of business last night.  For a brief moment in time, neighbors (both young & old) and runners (both experienced & new) came together in a way that seldom happens.

In the midst of our time together last night, we strengthen the fabric of our community.  Several of us were strangers at the beginning of the night but now we all have something in common – we were  and are #1of100! That’s why last night was so amazing.

I was #1of100 and I will wear this badge proudly!

Building community, engaging in conversation (and running), that’s when life happens and finds meaning.

Be well and make it a great day!
